Heartwarming rescue story of piglet that got lost during hard-hitting East Coast Blizzard

29 Jan , 2016

A week ago, while driving along a highway in Hagerstown, Maryland the heroic Smith family noticed a pink piglet lost and confused in the snow.

The piglet was scared and disheveled from the blizzard, the snow and ice had trapped it, thankfully the Smith family arrived just in time.

The family took the scared piglet back to the ski resort they were staying in, covered the baby pig with warm blanks and fed it warm milk.

The Smith family continued to care for the baby pig until it was back to full health and documented Wee Wee, the lucky piglets, journey on Facebook.

The Smith family loved caring for Wee Wee, however they knew their backyard wasn’t an adequate home and organised for the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary to adopt Wee Wee.

“It’s the type of thing that you realize should be done, and that’s all we’ve ever tried to articulate to our kids: Do the right thing — you’ll know what it is when that happens.” Perry Smith

Check out these photos from Wee Wee and the heroic Smith family’s heartwarming journey.
